Safe Working
Safe Working holds three records: permits to work for high-risk jobs, method statements that set out how a task is done safely, and toolbox talks, the short safety briefings you give staff. Open each one from its card on the Safe Working page.
Common actions
- 1
Issue a permit: Press "View Permits to Work", then "+ Issue Permit". Describe the work and choose the Permit Type, such as Hot Work or Working at Height. Add the location, who it is issued to and the conditions. The expiry date fills itself in from the type. Press "Issue Permit".
- 2
Close a permit: Open the permit and press "Mark as Active" when work starts, then "Mark as Completed" when it is done. Press "Cancel Permit" if the work does not go ahead. Permits do not expire by themselves, so set Expired by hand if you need to.
- 3
Add a method statement: Press "View Method Statements", then "+ Add Method Statement". Upload the PDF and the AI fills in the title and review date, or type them. Add the activity, department and risk level. Press "Add Method Statement".
- 4
Keep method statements current: Open one and press "Mark as Current", "Under Review", "Archive" or "Revert to Draft".
- 5
Log a toolbox talk: Press "View Toolbox Talks", then "+ Log Toolbox Talk". Fill in the topic, who gave it, the date, the department, how many attended and the key points. Press "Log Talk".
- 6
Record a talk by voice: Press "๐๏ธ Record session" after the talk and describe what you covered. The AI fills in the topic, key points, attendees and actions. It can also suggest follow-ups: an incident, a maintenance job or a training record. Untick any you do not want, then press "Save Record".
- 7
Get a script for a talk: Press "โจ Generate script", type a topic and press "โจ Generate Script". The AI writes a talk you can deliver. Press "๐๏ธ Save & Deliver" to record the session afterwards.
- 8
Keep a script for later: On the script, press "๐ Save as Template". It appears under "Saved scripts" on the Toolbox Talks page. Press "Use script" to log a talk from it.
Who can do what
Everyone in the club can add and update all three. Records cannot be deleted from the page.
Your Records Score
All three count together. A method statement counts as up to date when it is Under Review, Archived, or Current and within its review date. Drafts count against you. A permit counts as up to date unless it is set to Expired, and cancelled permits are left out. Every toolbox talk counts as up to date.
๐ก Tip
A toolbox talk does not need to be long. Five minutes on one hazard, logged here, shows an inspector that safety is talked about regularly.
